Is this text message a scam?

How to verify it

• Do not tap any links in the text. Just do not.
• Open the app or website yourself by typing it in. Do not use the link from the message.
• Call the official support number from the company's real website (not any number in the text).
• Paste the message text into our checker if you want a quick read on the red flags.

What to do instead

Do not reply to the text. Contact the company through a channel you find yourself, like their website or app. If the message is real, they will confirm it. If it is not, you just saved yourself.

Never do these things

• Never share one-time passcodes. Nobody legitimate will ask for them by text.
• Never send gift cards, crypto, or wire transfers because a text told you to.
• Never install remote access apps because a text message gave you instructions to.

What scam texts actually sound like

"Your package is delayed. Click here now to avoid return."

"Your bank account is locked. Verify your identity now."

"FINAL NOTICE: Unpaid toll fee. Pay today to avoid court."

All three are fake. Real companies do not threaten you over text with vague deadlines and weird links.
